| Born in the city of Hartford
Connecticut in 1978, I lived the first few years of being born in a
small town called Granby. The rest of my childhood was spent growing
up in the suburbs of New Hampshire in the small city of Keene. As a
small child I was very shy and spent most of my time playing in the
great outdoors where I found my love of fishing and the countryside.
With this love of nature combined with my shyness, one day I picked
up a pencil and paper and started drawing everything before me. I haven't
stopped since.
Art became a therapeutic
way of expression for my bashful soul because I knew it was something
that was coming from my heart. When I was drawing and being creative,
I was content and happy. It was then that I knew that it would become
the basis for which the rest of my life would follow. I enrolled to
Keene State College where I achieved a Bachelor of Art in Graphic Design
and also had the opportunity to study art overseas at the University
of Wolverhampton. Within my time spent at school I took several classes
studying photography which has always been a passion of mine. Since
I can remember, I have always collected fashion magazines not for the
content of their text but for their beautiful imagery. I had no idea
how or whom was responsible for creating such colorful works of art
but I knew someday it was something I was destined to help create.
Upon my graduation from
Keene State College, I move to Portland Maine where through a lot of
luck and blind faith, I finally started listening to my heart. As fate
would have it, I started working as a makeup artist and model with Portland
based fashion photographer Stewart
Smith who has not only been an extraordinary mentor and teacher
for me, but also a kind and caring friend. Every day I look forward
to what’s in store down the road as everything unfolds, and in
April I am proud to be going back to school to receive my cosmetology
license to further pursue a career as a professional makeup artist and
stylist. Stay tuned for more to come, it will be an exciting year! |
